Dardanel's Overseas Subsidiary Opens Factory in Greece and Begins Production
Dardanel Önentaş Gıda Sanayi A.Ş. (DARDL) announced that its 100% subsidiary Dardanel Greece S.A. has commenced operations at its newly opened sushi factory in Greece. Continuing to expand its presence in international markets, Dardanel has officially begun sushi production in Europe with its investment in Greece and the launch of its packaged sushi brand Sushida in Turkey. By establishing Dardanel Greece and acquiring the well-established seafood brand Kallimanis in Greece in 2021, Dardanel is enhancing Kallimanis' product variety with new offerings. As a result of investment efforts over the past year, the company has launched its third factory in Greece. The factory, built on an area of 2,200 m2, has a production capacity of 15 million sushi pieces per year using modern manufacturing technologies.
The new investment is expected to increase Dardanel's targets in the international market, with a revenue goal of 50 million euros from sales in Greece and neighboring European countries. Niyazi Önen, Founder and Chairman of the Board, stated, "We are excited to introduce our packaged sushi products under the Sushida Kallimanis brand to consumers in Greece and neighboring countries with this new addition to our investments in Greece." Önen also highlighted the potential of the growing sushi category worldwide, expressing that the investment will enable them to gain more market share internationally. This move solidifies Dardanel's strategy to strengthen its position in the international market with innovative products.
