Approval from BDDK for the Establishment of Katılımevim Participation Bank
The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) has granted a founding license for Katılımevim Katılım Bankası A.Ş., which is planned to be established by Katılımevim Tasarruf Finansman A.Ş. (KTLEV) and its partners. The new participation bank will operate in Turkey with a total capital of 10 billion TL and will be launched under the leadership of Serdar Turhan, Ömer Burkay, Ahmet Özcan, and Selay Turhan İnce.
The founding license was approved by the BRSA during its meeting on December 12, 2024, with decision number 11037 and announced in the Official Gazette on December 17, 2024. The management of Katılımevim plans to accelerate its efforts following the acceptance of their application to the BRSA on August 14, 2024.
Growth Strategy of Katılımevim On August 7, 2024, the board of directors of Katılımevim Tasarruf Finansman A.Ş. convened to plan the necessary steps in line with the decision to establish a participation bank with a 99.9% stake. In this context, the company's general management has been authorized to obtain legal approvals and complete necessary preparations.
The upcoming Katılımevim Katılım Bankası aims to provide a wide service network with 141 branches and 250,000 individual customers nationwide, operating in the individual market. It also targets financing for strategic sectors in Turkey, such as foreign currency-generating industrial investments, agriculture, and mining. Developments regarding the bank's organization and operational permits will continue to be shared with the public and investors.
