Google Leverages Anthropic's Claude to Enhance Gemini AI

According to internal communications viewed by TechCrunch, contractors working on Google's (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Gemini artificial intelligence are comparing their outputs to those generated by Anthropic's rival model, Claude. Google did not disclose whether it obtained permission to use Claude in tests against Gemini when contacted by TechCrunch for comment. As technology companies compete to create better AI models, the performance of these models is often evaluated against competitors; this is usually done by having contractors run their own models against industry benchmarks rather than meticulously assessing the AI responses of their rivals.
