Minister Bolat Meets with 16 Chamber and NGO Leaders in Ankara

The Minister of Trade, Ömer Bolat, met with 16 chamber and NGO presidents in Ankara.

In a statement made by the Ministry, it was noted:

"Under the chairmanship of Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, our Deputy Ministers and officials from our Ministry gathered on January 7, 2025, in Ankara with the participation of the presidents or representatives of our 16 Chambers and NGOs operating in the fields of economy and trade. The main agenda of the meeting was to exchange views on 'what our business community and our country can do in the reconstruction, rebuilding, and strengthening of the economy and trade of our brother country Syria in the new era.'

During the NGO meeting, it was emphasized that our highest priority in the new era of Syria is to establish a sustainable national unity and state structure that ensures security and peace in Syria as soon as possible. Our country, which has supported the Syrian people during the challenging 13-year process and hosted nearly 3.5 million Syrians fleeing from massacre, has reached a consensus with our Chamber and NGO Presidents that we must establish strong cooperation between Turkey and Syria for the creation of a political and economic stability in the new era.

It was highlighted that the infrastructure and superstructure of Syria have suffered serious damage during the Syrian civil war, and in this context, we are aware of the challenges faced by the Syrian people. In the new era, great importance will also be given to the aspects of brotherhood law and humanitarian aid concerning trade, investment, and reconstruction."
