UK Competition Authority May Accept Solutions for Synopsys/Ansys Deal
Investing.com -- The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has announced that it may accept the proposed remedies presented by Synopsys and Ansys (NASDAQ:ANSS). The authority has until March 5, 2025, to make an official decision. The commitments offered by both companies on December 31 of last year include divestitures of certain product lines.
Specifically, Ansys proposed to divest its product for analyzing power consumption in digital chips. On the other hand, Synopsys has offered to divest its Optical Solutions Group. The CMA stated that there are reasonable grounds to believe these commitments could be acceptable.
