Environmental Law Leads to 43.93% Increase in Recovery Contributions for Certain Products in 2025

According to the Environmental Law, the recovery contribution fees for certain products will increase by 43.93% in 2025. The "Communiqué on the Recovery Contribution Fees to be Collected Under Law No. 2872" prepared by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change has been published in the Official Gazette. Accordingly, the recovery contribution fees for certain products have been increased by 43.93%, based on the revaluation rate set for 2024. With the decision, the fee for plastic bags (plastic shopping bags) has been set at 86 kuruş. However, according to the assessment made by the General Directorate of Environmental Management, the cost of plastic bags will be 50 kuruş in 2025.
