Marmarabirlik Aims for $37 Million in Exports by 2025

Forex - Marmarabirlik has shared its foreign trade targets for the year 2025 with the public. The Chairman of Marmarabirlik's Board of Directors, Hidamet Asa, announced that they reached an export figure of 32 million dollars in 2024 and set the export target for 2025 at 37 million dollars. Asa stated that they aim to exceed the 40 million dollar threshold in 2026.

Marmarabirlik, which has exceeded the targets set based on year-end figures, reported an export and export-registered foreign trade figure of 32 million dollars as of December 28. Hidamet Asa said, "We are the only country in the world that produces using natural fermentation methods. Although our target consumer group is primarily the ethnic population, we have reached the export amount we aimed for with 7 thousand tons of sales, both exported and export-registered.”

The Chairman Asa noted that they increase the number of countries they export to each year, highlighting that Marmarabirlik products are now available on the shelves of national chain stores such as Lidl, Kaufland, Walmart, Real, Coles, Woolworths, Auchan, Novus, Metro (IS:METRO), X5, Magnet, Azbuka Vkusa, Bingo, Albert Heijn, Rewe, Edeka, and Korzinka, and have become a sought-after brand thanks to increased product variety.

Aiming to Grow in Turkic Republics Asa stated that they have chosen the Turkic Republics as their target region for 2024, reporting that they increased annual sales in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Bosnia Herzegovina, with which they have an emotional bond, from ten tons to 300 tons. He mentioned that they aim to export to 70 countries next year and that Marmarabirlik is progressing rapidly towards becoming a global brand. “The harvested products last year were large-caliber and, despite not being medium or small-sized grains, contributed significantly to Marmarabirlik in terms of sales volume and foreign exchange revenue,” he added.

Export Target of 37 Million Dollars in 2025 Asa noted that the revenue generated from exports, amounting to 1.15 billion TL, is a significant support for Marmarabirlik’s budget. He stated, “According to data from the Aegean Exporters' Associations, the average export price of one kilogram of olives is 2.70 dollars, while Marmarabirlik's export is 4.91 dollars. Additionally, despite a 22% decrease in olive and olive oil exports at the national level in 2024, Marmarabirlik achieved the target export figure of 32 million dollars compared to the previous business year. I would like to thank all my colleagues who contributed to this success.”
